Altered Tootsie Roll Bank

For some holiday (Easter or Christmas?) my kids got those tootsie roll banks.  Well, I stole one and repurposed it for my scrap money!

I just wrapped some patterned paper around it, added a decorate border with the Fiskars threading water punch and added some bling, stickers and a leftover paper flower.  Voila!

Ali's Challenge : Day four

Sam likes to hide between the wall and the cabinets.
He then jumps out and yells "boo".
He's so scary!

What redneck family doesn't shop at Walmart?
HA HA!  It was our bi weekly shopping trip..
store one of two.  Here's hubby trucking
across the parking lot

Mommy made brownies and Madi had to try some
...and we discovered...she got her first tooth today!

Emma came home from school today with her official
"Earth Ranger" badge...to celebrate Earth Day, they learned how to recycle and
talked about ways to help the Earth.

I wanted to take a few more pics of my pals at work, but alas, I didn't get to.
This is harder than I thought!

Ali's challenge: Day two

I converted a dollar store find into my "teamscrap" album:  a place where I can
keep track of all my deadlines and projects for Memory Works and Practical Scrappers.

Sam having his milky on Tuesday night

and here's the crew on Wednesday am...fresh out of bed.

Sam was very serious when sipping some iced tea from
my glass.  Love the hair!

Grillin'sausage!

My lilac's bloomed and they smell so good.  Not to many blooms
again this year :(  We had a huge lilac bush in our yard when I was a kid
and I always wanted to have a big bush in my yard.  I've had mine since we moved
into this house, and it's not getting as big as I want.  Maybe I'll have better luck in
Georgia!

These are flowers that Emma picked out that we have to plant in our backyard
yet.  I hope to put in a little garden, so she can tend to the vegetables.  I think
she'll really enjoy that.

*****

I did get to scrap my Tuesday photos.  I'll take a pic and post them later.
This is fun!

Ali's challenge Day One: Tuesday

Tuesday: 4/20/2010

my morning would not be complete without my "big crab" mug and
my computer:  I spend every morning updating blogs, surfing and checking
my e mails.

we generally don't eat our breakfast at the table.  it's milk and cereal all around,
assembly line style!  and we watch Sesame Street.  notice emma's perch on the table?

scooter and more laundry to be done...

yes, my daughter sleeps with me.

jacob brushing his choppers and getting ready for
another day of kindergarten.

"i'm not gonna brush my hair"

"does it ever end?"  i love it!

more assembly style lunch...peanut butter and fluffernutter
and crackers/chips

got my April Grab Bag stuff packaged and ready to go!

spent some time in the sunshine in our back yard playing.

nick's raised eyebrow..it's a genetic trait

******

Funny conversations:
Jacob to Emma:  "when i grow up i am going to be a tall policemen"
Emma to Jacob:  "Jacob, you too short"

*****

hope you had fun documenting your day today!
I sent all my pics to CVS for development
so I can start planning my album.
I think I am going to incorporate it into my SimpleStories Album for the
month of April.

I like this idea so much I may pick a week out of each month to
document.  I t really gives a glimpse into what our life is like, the
routines, the funnies, etc.

Practical Scrappers Weekly challenge: ribbon/floss/fibers

here are my entries for the challenge!

{adorable boy}

I sewed thick waxed ribbon around the photo
and also added a ribbon topper on the top left of the page.

{sweetie}

on this layout I punched holes along the side of the photo and the journaling
card and tied ribbons.  I also stitched around the base photo and then tied
ribbons onto the thread.

thanks for looking!
