time album

This is a mini I was working on today.  The album itself is from Michael's {it's just a plain chipboard tag album}.  I used K&Company papers and lots of other goodies on the album.

I machine stitched the edges of some of the pages before adhering them.  Used rub on's from my stash and lots of buttons!

I also used lots of stacked flowers.  I love the aqua blue and brown together.  I heat embossed the chipboard elements on the album with Tim Holtz suede embossing powder.  I like the look and feel.  It gives alot of texture.

This butterfly I covered with a blue print vellum, then added rhinestones and that metal swirly gadget you see there.  I hand drew in the flight path...

Thanks for looking..enjoy...the book is for sale in my etsy shoppe if interested...

Vendor Event

I will be hostessing a "shopping night out" at Hanoverville Elementary School on April 9th.  I was hoping it was before Easter so I could focus on Easter crafts, but too bad!  so I am working on mini albums to sell and will highlight the MemoryWorks Simple Stories Kits for purchase.  I should also have my new catty's by then...I'll post pics of the albums and some techniques I am working on a little later today..

Simple Stories Layouts

I like this page setup because it reminds me of The Brady Bunch opening sequence!!
and it's a nice way to showcase some photos of all my kids and their unique personalities..

With five kids, we celebrate alot of birthdays, it's nice to have a snapshot of them all inone place..and enough journaling space to write about each party...

We love fall and the pumpkin patch...this is one of my favorite pages..

The paper really lends itself to "fall".

Thanks for looking!!

Taking pictures

So, I'm in a bit of a creative rut and I believe it's due to lack of new pictures!  so, today I am going to bust out my camera and take a few {probably like 100} and get inspired.  Since I adore black and whites, i'll probably take them all in that mode.  So we'll see if I can light my creative fires that way....stay tuned!

*been blog surfing this am...so many great sites out there...i could surf all day.

*it's cold, but sunny today.  houseful of sick kids and hubby.  hopefully better soon. hopefully some private scrap time for me today.

Valentine Altered Box

I made this little box album holder out of a Josh Early Candy mini box and some $1 bin coasters from Target!

This is for the challenge on Practical Scrappers this week...using your cricut machine.  The hearts, circles for coaster covers and decorative edge around the photo spots were all but using my Cricut machine.  Also, the title on the box top and front album cover are all cut with my machine.  Fun to do and an easy way to use up leftover boxes.  I made the fold up album by covering both sides of the coasters (they were originally coca cola coasters) with cardstock and patterned paper with a ribbon adhered in between.

and Prism Cardstock in red

February Challenge at MW Studio

I am hostessing the February Challenge on the MW Studio.  Our challenge theme this month is 3's the Charm!

Our consultants are to create a layout using:  3 hearts, 3 handsewn items and 3 photos.
Here's my take on the challenge...

I used my fabulous Memory Works products:
Pink Paislee Theme Set:  Cupid
Bo Bunny Theme Set:  Flutter Butter
Pebbles chips and ribbon in red
Fancy Pants Valentine Set:  retired
Doodlebug Design Paper set

I machine stitched around the background paper, the photos and the journaling tag.  My three hearts are there {I count that little background paper too!}
